I know this is a sort of a nasty topic but I need some input from my friends. I am currently taking prednisone, cellcept, imuran, and mestinon. I started taking the cellcept about 3 months ago and the imuran about 3 weeks ago. The others I have been taking since January.
About 6 days ago I got severe diarrhea. It lasted for 2 days. By the second day, not only did I have severe diarrhea but there was bright red blood everytime (at times quite a bit). I started taking imodium AD to try to stop the diarrhea. It slowed the diarrhea down but it hasn't stopped. The bleeding has slowed down and increased in direct proportion to the diarrhea.
Is it possible that the diarrhea and bleeding is a direct result of the medications I'm taking? I'm being admitted to the hospital tomorrow morning to start plasmapherisis treatments. Since they give blood thinners during the treatment, will this be a problem since I am having the bleeding with the diarrhea?
Any advice will be helpful.

Especially taking cellcept and imuran at the same time. I am not sure how much you are taking of each, but I believed and still believe you should've increased the prednisone for what you said you were experiencing in regards to symptoms and you mentioning your potential crisis related issues, followed by increasing cellcept for sustainment as it hasn't been long enough to say if it was working or not. I just don't like the way this has been going for you.
I just don't know how many ways I can say this.
