Can anyone explain why it takes so long for CellCept to be effective?

My understanding is that it is a cumulative issue along with reaching a therapeutic dose. Similar to other medications (such as seizure medications or antidepressants) where your body requires a certain amount for efficacy. Since it is working to suppress our immune systems I have to assume that it takes that long to destroy enough of the antibodies that work against us.

I don't know if any of that is exactly true but I like the question and I look forward to seeing the response of others.
