Sorry! I didn't mean to exclude anyone who may not have had OMG for several years! Apparently, many people thought I was excluding them. See my message that I posted yesterday.
Anyone out there dealing with only Ocular MG? I was diagnosed 60 years ago with MG but it remained in my left eye all these years. Then suddenly, last Sunday morning, April 15, it showed up in my right eye....big time! Struggling with it all week. Compared to many of the stories I have read and heard about, mine has been a milder case since it never generalized but even then, it is very difficult to deal with.Have done a lot of research on line thru the years and it appears that Mestinon is the drug of choice. I've taken it through the years and I've started taking a lot more this week, awaiting an appt. with a neurologist. I would like to visit with anyone who has had Ocular MG for a number of years? Thanks for your help!!

Yes, Mestinon is the first line drug for both occular and generalized MG. I have generalized MG, but the mestinon does help my double vision and droopy eyelids. But, I know some people who don't see a lot of improvement in their occular symptoms from just mestinon and so they have to take something else, like prednisone. Hopefully the mestinon helps you!
Do you have any other specific questions we can help with, or to chat about? Even though most of us have generalized MG, we still like to chat :-)
