I agree 100%, they are wonderful if your chemically depressed but I think most of us are situationally depressed. I know the docs say when we are in a stressful situation too long our brain rewires itself but I humored my doc and for the first time in my 32 years on the planet, I had suicidal thoughts both on Cymbalta and Lexapro. Counseling with a psychologist, joining our local support group for MG in town, and being properly medicated for mg have drastically reduced my down days. I think too many docs use anti-depressants to numb their patients natural reactions and I feel this is dangerous. Not to say these are not lifesaving meds to those who are clinically depressed. I wish you the best in finding the right treatment for you.

Jen

Good luck and keep looking forward.
My dad has MG, and I recently woke up w/ same symptoms he did when he first got it 7 yrs ago---drooping watery eye...just 2 days ago...ive yet to see a doc(in a snowstorm right now)
Antidepressants do seem to kind of burn-out. Try adding fish oil capsules. I get the double coated ones from Costco; much lower "burpage factor." Also, I bought one of those UV lights. I have it in my home office and turn it on when I am working. Last but not least...exercise is proven to be more effective than Prozac in treating depression. Exercise is a challenge with our disease but a moderate amount might help.
Good luck!

Did your neuro tell you that you could? And why would mine tell me No? I suppose each doctor is different, but I would like to try natural things esp. being I do not eat right and such!
Thanks,
Kim
