Whew!
docs and nurses sometimes look at me like I am crazy when I double check and make calls on anything I put in my body.
Thanks for the heads up on yet another drug we are impacted by.
We always need to check drug interactions and clear all medications with our neurologist. The drug you were taking has 539 major to minor interactions with other drugs. I think when we see something like that (drugs.com) it should raise a red flag. Januvia is a relatively new drug and like all new drugs, as it is used more problems will probably become obvious.
Some medications do have black box warnings for myasthenia gravis, some are known to aggravate our problems almost universally, and others we get by with, and certainly we have to take medications. But it is always a good idea to ask specifically, check for ourselves, and be suspicious, as you were, if new symptoms go along with taking a new drug. Hoping your strength will be back ASAP. b.
