Hi All,
I had my thymectomy on Tuesday and am happy to say that the recovery is going quite well. I got out of the hospital on Friday and am hoping to not suffer too much longer in the recovery phase. There is some air that is under my skin due to the surgery that they said will dissolve in the next week and disappear. Has anyone else experienced this? At first it felt as though it was in my chest area, now it is in my neck area. Hopefully this goes away.
Also, i was shaving my underarms this morning and realized that i dont have much feeling under the arm they did the surgery on (robotic from the right side). Did anyone else experience this also? Will the feeling return or is it forever lost?

Glad that you are home and your recovery is going well!
I had a thymectomy in May but with VATS. I didn't have any numbness or air issues but I imagine with any surgery there can be slight loss of feeling or numbness. It's early days yet so I wouldn't worry about it yet. Are you having a checkup with your surgeon soon? Or perhaps a phone call?
