Finally got an answer from the pulmonologist yesterday..Not the sarcoids but Asthma..triggered by my allergies. So I started Advair discus 250/50 yesterday. I pray it helps with the shorness of breath. My swallowing and speach are still affected but mostly around 3:00pm and better after I am able to rest. Has anyone ever taken Advair before ?

I had two problems with it. One was minor, voice hoarseness that seemed less when I carefully gargled after each use. The 2nd proved problematic for me, arrhythmias. If you go to the site of the manufacturer and read the pdf file of the drug you will find under asthma that it can effect glucose and potassium. The key word there is "can". It certainly is not a problem for many.
That said anyone at the place you are in and where I was then would no doubt not hesitate to try it as it works so well for many.
I was dissapointed when my doctor discontinued my using it as it worked re markedly well for my asthma. I will hope you will get the positive effect without any of the possible negative side effects.
Be aware of what the side effects are and report them right away to your doctor if any occur. You can then determine if they are serious enough to stop use. I am hoping you have only positive experiences like Russ and Sami. Let us know how it goes....
