When my Vitamin D gets into the low range of normal I get very weak, so much so that I can't carry a can of beans up the basement stairs. I need to increase my Vit D (live in Canada) every fall in order to be able to breath well. My first sign of a problem is horrible pain in my wrist. It takes a couple weeks of an increased dose and I'm much better - riding my bike, breathing well. I also have a calcium problem so that may exaggerate the effects but have heard from other friends who've started taking Vit D how much faster they recover from the few colds they get!
