Myasthenia Gravis Support Group
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular disease leading to fluctuating muscle weakness and fatiguability. The hallmark of myasthenia gravis is muscle weakness that increases during periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. Although myasthenia gravis may affect any voluntary muscle, muscles that control eye and eyelid movement, facial expression, and...
Maybe that will help.

what did you mean mg symptoms are present? I hope you don't mind me asking, Im still learning, and like someone said before each day if different. Yesterday and today I feel like I have a golf ball in my throat, hard to swallow. Sleep surely is good, but lately I havent been sleeping too good.
Don't worry about sounding repetitive here... clarity is a beautiful thing! When I was on mestinon only it would often take my second dose of the day to get my eyes to fully open comfortably.
Focus on what is normal for you and what works for you... none of us are completely "typical" but can relate on one level or another!
My left usually has more issue than my right, but it has been the opposite a couple of times and other times they are both being naughty!
I am glad you are here and I am here for you as well! Welcome to our group, I hope you find it as priceless as I have!
Love, Becca
I have eye problems in the morning. I started a topic "eyes in the morning" and there was a good discussion about the topic. I agree with bweeds that the ice pack test gives a strong indication of MG and it is very simple to perform. There is some studies that suggest it is very accurate and one leading neurologists believes it to be 99 percent accurate. J
Place the ice pack on the eyes for a minute or two. Your eyes will pop open if you have a positive test, but will return to dropping. This would be a strong indication of MG. The relief is only temporary. J
When I did the ice pack test on myself a couple of months ago I had googled "Ice pack test for Myasthenia Gravis" and, like mgsupport suggested, the information I found was to put the ice pack or cold pack on the eye for 1 or 2 minutes. I found two minutes to be really hard to do (it is COLD). I made it about a minute and a half and when I removed the ice pack my droopy eye was bigger than my non droopy eye!
Now, when I do my makeup and am having droopy eye issues, I put ice on my eye for a minute, then apply my eyeliner. This keeps me from walking around with my eyeliner above my lash level once my eye lifts!
