My dad had this manifested 7 yrs ago,,,has some transitory weakness, but was an active person, w/ a garden, and tinkering in garage..now 85yo..on Masodon and Imuran---had the thymectomy, didnt help 'cure the illness....slowed it down
Im fifty, and just had a couple warning signs--droopy right eye, watery...allergy drops keep it from tearing so much, still droopy..lost some control over lips, slurring a bit..dribble food a bit while eating
I made a n appt w/ eye doc the day after symptoms..yet I think Monday, I'' make an appt w/ dad's neurologist, and skip my internist GP..or maybe see him too..I know dad's docs, and will prob go to them...it was his neurologist who made the sure and final diagnosis..
Im almost half hoping it was a mini-stroke--woke up with this Thursday morning 02/04/10...if it was , just have to take statins and blood thinners
any advice?

I have asked many times if MG is hereditary and they always tell me no, but one never knows!!!

Ive had a 2-3 eye infections from contacts..a bit of redness, and tearing is common, dont feel any scratchy sensation tho...
but I have a bit of distortion w. lips and bit of spillage when eating..I woke up with all this Thurs morning, mentally, Im fine..
Emotionally...I Im staunching/stacking myself up for eventual bad news...Ive been blessed w. general good health, esp since quitting smoking over 2 yrs ago..know I KNOW if its MG OR a minstroke, ANY smoking is OUT of the picture..can deal w/ any shortness of breathe...

Good for you on quitting smoking, I have been smoking for 21 yrs now, and just 3 days ago I decided to stop smoking in my house and make myself go outside ( man it's COLD out!!! ) I am having my house professionally cleaned right now so smoking inside is OUT of the question!!

No no other episode since..I have periodic pain over right jaw, I have a partial, and sometimes wear it too long( have had extensive detal work---TMJ is NO stranger)...I DI have a bit of sinus headache, sometimes near the eye that is droopy/teary..Im kinda hoping I DO have an eye infection..
A couple times before I had dental absesces...it could reach my sinus and puffed me up even around my eyes..
