Well they are vastly different, aren't they?!

I'd have to go with the Stones... BT only had but like 2 songs on the radio and thus only 2 I know, and I didn't care for either. So it's the Stones by default. Not my favorite band but I like enough of their tracks to have a greatest hits album at least.


Are we just looking for random choices here or two acts with similarities to compare? And just bands or solo artists too? And should we post links for each act in case the next poster hasn't heard of the acts we chose?

I'll go with two bands with similarities just to cover both bases for now...

I can go for a few Wham songs but T F Fears rock, they have a nice enveloping surrounding sound.

Yeah I wouldn't generally compare those two like ever...lol... Pink Floyd's great for the sheer sake that you can play the "Dark Side of the Moon" album over "The Wizard of Oz" film and have it sync up and make the film sort of eerie, but Alan Parsons Project did give me one of the greatest songs of my youth, that being "Eye In The Sky". So, even though Pink Floyd's had more success and they've got that movie sync up thing going for them, that can't trump the memories of childhood so, Alan Parsons Project for the win!

Well, I'm by far more of a fan of Chicago than David Gilmour; I can't even think of any other DG songs while I know at least the greatest hits of Chicago thanks to both my parents being fans of theirs and having heard their albums growing up. So Chicago wins that one for me.

Well, neither did much more in the US anyway aside from those two songs, and based on the two songs, I prefer "Kids In America" to "Heart and Soul" any day of the week. So Kim Wilde it is then!

Ah, well Daughtry wasn't a winner... he came in 4th! But he's certainly more successful than the likes of Taylor Hicks, isn't he?!

I was never a big fan of the Velvet Teddybear, mom was a huge Clay fan and I must admit I did root for him and voted for him on mom's behalf to win. Daughtry wasn't my fave in season 5 either but of the two I'd pick him because I'm more of a rock fan than an r&b fan, generally speaking.

Ah, well I do like both Julian and The Wallflowers so this is tough. I know the Wallflowers song well, still have the album and all, though I I've grown tired of the song because it was played to death over the years which tends to ruin music for me. The Julian song I'd never heard in full before actually. I like the sample of "Baby You're a Rich Man" in it; a nice nod to his dad there. I don't think it's his best work though, but based on those two songs, if I had to pick one over the other to listen to again, I'd rather Julian's since it's newer to me. Had you picked other songs of theirs I would've had an even harder time on this one!
