I just have to share this insane dx roller coaster I've been on and hope it helps others. I've been to six specialists in past 5 months and had 8 different diagnoses including: mctd, fibromyalgia, CFS, Ms, myasthenia gravis, mastocytosis, peripheral neuropathy and yeast overgrowth. Each specialist, 2 neuros, 2 rheumys, a nutritional osteo and a pulmonary said the previous dx was wrong and their dx was right. My symptoms were a few from each disease and diagnoses were based on symptoms, mri's, blood test results and other tests. After last dx, I did some research and determined that ibs and gerd, which I've also had for years, along with taking many meds for ibs, gerd and asthma can cause malabsorption of vitamins and minerals. I started myself on a regime of vitamins and. A few other supplements like lyseine, quercertin, selenium, probiotics. In 2 weeks almost all of my symptoms resolved or got much better. No more weakness, muscle cramps, numbness, tingling, dizziness, headaches, fatigue. The list goes on and on and all got 90% better. I'm still being evaluated and have an emg scheduled end of Jan. But ill take 90% improvement and a big vitamin bill. Hope this can be a possibility for others. One neuro told me he believes much Ms is over diagnosed and is frequently a b vitamin deficiency. Which gave me idea to look into it. Wondering if anyone else takes many b vitamins and if its helped. Thanks for listening.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

There is a book out called Autoimmune Success and it covers how malabsorption / metabolism issues might be cause of multiple autoimmune diseases. It goes over how a parent was able to address malabsorption/ metabolism problems to help get rid of eczema, RLS, previously undiagnosed allergies and severe UC went to mild. Plus some MS symptoms were reversed and overall disease slowed down. The thing is that some people may need to take highly absorbable forms of nutrients or "activated" nutrients for them to be able to use them as unprocessed vitamins will not be able to be processed or cut in the right shape for your body to use them.
What do I mean by this?
How useful is a half cut house key? It is NOT useful as it is not the right SHAPE to work. The B vitamin tests done by your doctor only look at B vitamins that have not yet been processed into final shaped key nutrient needed to work in your body. If your body can not fully process (not fully cut your house key) then this test will not show that and you can get a false positive level reading. If you can not use these B vitamins it is like having LOW B vitamins that can "mimic MS".
There are other, better tests that can be done to find out what your body can not process. Once you know this you can take the types of processed vitamins you need as a work around to the metabolism problems you have.
Also know that vitamin D tests that say you are LOW really don't tell you WHY you are low. Unless you know this you may be spinning your wheels in trying to raise your levels. As certain meds, organs that are overwhelmed, etc can all go to low D levels. Unless you help those organs having problems processing D and address meds that interfere with D function you are not going to get D benefits.
Keys are to reduce inflammation and stress. This book goes over some EXCELLENT tests that docs do not normally script for reducing not just allergens but inflammation and pain causing chemicals (via GI and foods). Plus researched ways to reduce stress while improving GI function where 70-80% of your immune system is found.
Add this to better tests to help you address WHY D is low, bring up the number and help your immune function properly and tests to determine what nutrients you might not be able to process. This book has a LOT of information on how to find contributing causes of autoimmune disease so you can do something about it and reverse symptoms.

According to www.AMSchneider.com the paperback will be out in the next 2 weeks.
Anywho... hope all of you have a wonderful 2015.

I am sorry there is not a listing of docs in the book only mention of one or two docs. It DOES have a list of EXCELLENT tests that you can get scripted through a doctor or on your own. These test are NOT normally scripted or even known about by doctors. They can help you find and address sources of inflammation / triggers to your immune system. It also covers certain tests you should not get ie celiacs in lue of gluten sensitivity or better yet lab that covers different grain proteins to let you know which grains YOU should eat or stay away from. Covers the standard B vitamin test not picking up if you can process (thus use) your B vitamins, then what test that CAN give you this information. Plus WHY D might be low so you can actually do something about it. A few organs you want to help to help overall health.
Anyway hope everyone has a wonderful 2015.
PS I have found our GP is usually much more willing to do testing than our specialist were. So if you ask for testing go to your GP for it.
