i dont think i'll be able to keep taking as many classes as i have been, just because of how tired i am now. online classes help a lot, but unfortunately that's not an option for every class.
i'm in college, and some of my classes require a certain amount of volunteering hours, and those in itself are a lot of energy for me. I can't take tons of classes and then go volunteer at the end of the day.
i know that i'm not being lazy, but feel disappointed that i will have to slow down because of my ms. I also will probably need to work minimally or quit my job. i feel like its the right thing to do but am worried about how it will look to other people to cut back on what im doing. i just physically cant keep going with this much stuff. i'm pretty angry and upset about it, but am trying my best to do the right thing for me, but am so worried about what other people will think, because i know they probably won't understand.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I'd just take a fresh look at things. Stress can get out of control but we don't need to let it take over. My current challenge is changing my habits. School has me running to the computer every morning when I awake and I need to change my own mindset to get to the exercise mat and to the treadmill before anything else.
Perhaps you can alter your schedule a bit. Just a suggestion. When stress kicks in, I always feel like it's an all or nothing situation and there's usually another approach, at least for me. There was a point where I was able to squeeze in a power nap during the day. Is there anyway you could have time to do that?
Just throwing a few things out there for you and I know that only you know how you're feeling and what your body needs.
Hope you get some helpful feedback here.
I know it is hard. I work full time. I was diagnosed in 2011. I fight to get out of bed everyday. Pace yourself. I wish you the best.
( easier said than done, I know ) but this is your life, no one else's. Do what you have to do to reach your goals!
I am sorry you are having a harder time dealing with your schedule. I often think it would have had a really hard time dealing with MS symptoms in my 20s, and am impressed that you have been able to do so much until now, I know I couldn't. (MS started to bug me in my late 30s.)
Cut yourself some slack, you are doing great! And (I know it's hard) try not to think about what others think. I started using my scooter a couple of months ago. I know I am now a bit of a freak in my neighborhood, but I try not to care because I am not shut in my house all the time now! The same thing happened to me when I started using a cane, I was embarrassed & tried to hide it, but discovered people are kinder if I use it openly (they used to try & oust me from the disabled seats on the bus).
