As far as lawyers, the Christian Legal Society is a network of Christian lawyers you can check out at clsnet.org.
Also, are you a part of a local MS support group? One may be able to help you navigate work-related issues, insurance matters and other things. They're at nationalmssociety.org.
My prayers are with you. Do you attend church or have any other groups you're involved in?
I really do not know what good a lawyer will do you. I would really think it would put everyone on edge and possibly on the defensive position. A lawyer will not help. Any employer can almost always find a way to terminate an employee if they so desire.
Being a Federal job, will you have the safety net of disability should that be necessary?
Maybe get copies of your annual reviews with your boss to show how good an employee you are. IF..IF after you tell them they start saying your are not doing a good job get that paperwork too.
Document work in a daily log that INCLUDES DATES so it is admissible in court. Hopefully the documentation will help you keep your job and if you do have to leave help you get disability.
Best wishes to you,
EP
Luckily, I did this and was denied. I ended up going blind and it was my lawyer that called Social Security and he called up someone he knew there and was able to have my decision overturned and I did not even have to go see one of their two-bit doctors!
I wish you the BEST OF LUCK!!
