Work, disibility and health insurance

It is getting harder and harder to work now, I'm miserable all day, the first thing I do is take a nap when I get home, if I have to do anything else im overwhelmed it sucks. Are any of you familar with disibility and health insurance? I heard that if you get approved for disibility, you have to wait 18 months for health coverage, medicare, medicaid, whatever. Is this true? that seems crazy to me wth? I have been working full time since I was 15 yrs old, I cant believe that I paid into this system for times like this and they make it so hard for us to get OUR money. grrrrrr!

I agree with you Bon, I was approved for SSI, but had to wait 24 months for medicare to kick in. Not fair, and of course I knew something was going to happen when I didn't have insurance, and sure enough I fell and broke my upper arm. NOT FUN, but I made it thru the rehab ad everythng, and now I have Medicare. But you are right it is NOT fair that you have to wait 24 months.

Sometimes life sucks. Try and stay strong and positive.

Yes, I remember the wait. I am so sorry about this wait.

They do this to people on disability. I know it is really crazy. Hopefully, you should be able to get drugs cheap on some of their programs for discount.
