Morning's are the worst for me! That & late at night! Even though the symptom you are referring to can get pretty bad during the day as well, it's worse at these times.
Regarding the symptoms you are referring to, they are bad most of the day (I have Cerebellum Ataxia) but worse in the morning. Most of the time I wake up with this symptom & try & stand out of bed & fall back down into the bed. Then when I try & walk I am all fumbly & like you said, you try & reach for something & you end up knocking things over, either by reaching for something or your hand/arm has a Myoclonic jerk & you sweep something over just by turning around...if that makes any sense. IF you can pick something up & use it in the morning, you end up dropping it because you can't coordinate your hands/arms to work or you get violent Myoclonic jerks & the thing you are trying desperately to hold onto flies out of your hands. If you try & walk in any way (forget navigating doorways or around things or turning) & are falling over, only sometimes you can grab something in time to not almost fall over or trip or fall completely over. The tremors & head jerks & walking with my legs all crooked (for me) are the worst in the morning as well.
imagine it like being on a boat in a storm! HA!
Then there are the other morning symptoms I get, like numbness...face, head, hands, arms, legs, feet...it rotates. This is from the MS (for me) & the MS epilepsy can tingle my brain as well (that's me feeling a seizure while I sleep) & after I wake up, I wake most mornings with a "Migraine" & neck pain after the night MS seizure. I also wake up with a start from kicking my legs or what not (again Myoclonic seizures) from the MS Epilepsy as well.
Then there is the associated pain from all this "tossing & turning" all night long. I almost always seem to jerk or stiffen my body & or lay on something wrong & all that creates morning pain.
Then after all that & before you even try to get out of bed, you feel like a semi-truck was running you over repeatedly as you slept.
This (of course) is all AFTER you can even get to sleep in the first place because of all these symptoms you have to begin with.
I am famous for saying, "I don't go to sleep! I pass out!"
Take care,
Stay sane!
Hope you will feel better soon!
