How does a person know when to quit work altogether or cut back to say, half time? The symptoms that intefere with my job are the overwhelming fatigue that hits every afternoon as well as memory difficulties at times, although the memory problems don't interfere to a great extent. It is primarily the fatigue, which is unlike any fatigue I've experienced in the past.

I was initially concerned with cognitive function, but that has improved a great deal. I've had no flare-ups since IV steroids and starting Avonex. I find that I cannot both work and be a 'homemaker'. Working leaves me absolutely drained with no motivation to do schoolwork or housework in the evening. If I am home I can get things like laundry and even a meal done in addition to other things. If I work in the house all day, I am 'shot' for the next two to three days. Is this typical (as if anything is 'typical' in MS) at all? I don't know what to do about my future. I don't want to lose my benefits (although my husband has insurance which I could get on--it would cost a lot though). My employer has disability insurance for all employees. I still haven't called them though.

I think I may have written this question in the past--but my long term memory is horrid--so forgive me if I am reapeating myself! Just need to hear what the rest of you have done or are doing in regard to working.
