What it is for me it means that you never get back to a place of normal. I lost my sense of taste for 2 months. its back somewhat but nothing taste right anymore. Coke taste flat and its kinda sucks. aslo feeling is gone but I kinda feel vibration. I dont really call that feeling but some might. also there is not real treatmeant for SPMS but docs want us to do the reg drugs with all the side affects.

Instead of returning to the place you were at before you had an exacerbation ( a flare ), you stay in that worsened state.

I am there! I take no MS drug treatments. My doctor and I discussed and agreed no more drugs. I actually feel better after no more drugs.

with me my walking has gotten much worse. i'm more numb. nothing "slacks up". pain has increased. there's a lot of things that have happened recently. for a while i had a hard time talking and swallowing. it hasn't went away, i just have to fight through it and make myself understandable, make myself swallow.

my dr. told me there is no treatment but he will treat each symptom individually. makes sense to me.

Never really knew I has RRMS. Recently diagnosed with SPMS, and I'm going through hell. Unknowingly lived with RRMS for around 15 years. During that time, symptoms were varied and spread out. Never knew they were symptoms of the same problem. SPMS has hit me fast and aggressive. There is no more spreading out of symptoms, and I suffer from them all at once. There has not been any letting up, and nothing is working. I pray for a remission, but know it's not coming. At least not like before. Having not known I had MS, I was pretty much blindsided. It's hard. Everyday is a struggle, now.
