Hey everyone:
Has anyone been put on baclofen and experienced weight gain? Weight gain has been listed as one of the side effects but I just don't know how prevalent it is as a side effect.
Thanks so much in advance!

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Years ago, I had tried baclofen as it relieved those awful charley horse cramps I used to wake up with or get in the middle of the night. When I discovered that magnesium was a fabulous mineral of which 80% of us are deficient, and it took away any of my need for a baclofen pill, I have only made sure to take magnesium citrate or malate. Most recently, I've heard that magnesium glyconate is the best absorbed of them all. The thing with citrate is you have to take it gradually, or it works like a laxative. One pill in the morning for a week, then 2, and so on.
Magnesium orchestrates over 300 chemical reactions in the body. We even use it to maintain our body temperature. Anyway, you don't hear about it so much because there is more money to be made off of pharmaceuticals when people go to the ER for heart issues of any kind.... Used to be, a magnesium drip was available on the crash carts in the ER. You may have heard that already.
As you can tell, I'm a big fan of magnesium. I've read a lot on it. I hope you'll forget the baclofen and give it a try. "
Good Luck,
Kristi
