NAD used by mitochondria is actually a B vitamin. Mitos make ATP fuel for your body.
B vitamins are used for DNA synthesis.
B12 is needed for myelin sheath synthesis.
Intrinsic factors(IF) in the stomach are needed to absorb B vitamins and is the one "LIFE REQUIREMENT" your stomach provides the body. If you are low in IF or 2 enzymes that are dumped in duodenum you won't be able to absorb much B12. Inflamed GI can also reduce your absorption of B vitamins. Some people who are chronically low in B12 (pernicious anemia) get B12 injections that can bypass all these issues. P.anemia can give you symptoms of MS that resolve when you get injections of B vitamins. However, many people with MS do not have P. anemia but it is one of the things your doc should rule out before coming to a diagnosis (dx) of MS.
Here is a list of B vitamins and the other names they go by.
