I WAS JUST DIAGNOSED WITH MS AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY TREATMENT YET. I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD GO TO AN OUT PATIENT PROGRAM FOR MY FIRST TREATMENT AND IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE THEY ARE. I'M FROM NYC PLEASE E MAIL ME AT ONE4MEE4303@AOL.COM THANKS JOE

Well I guess that depends on how bad you hit was? alot of times if it's not bad they set you up with shots that you take home and do yourself....

My neuro was really good about getting me set up for treatment. However, I was basically on my own as far as giving it to myself. I started on Avonex, and they sent a video for me to watch. I had a nurse friend explain it a little more, and show me what to do. After that...I was on my own. I was ok with that...but some people aren't, and need more help. I'm sure your doctor would set you up with someone to help if you need. Let me know if you need anything!

yes you can do your meds out pt. back in the dark age hubby and i would get up at 5:30 in the morn and do his IV's. im a nurse so i could do them. we did solumedrol and ivig here at home. hubby's doc did have a home care company to back me up if i needed it . so yes it can be done . hugz

oh yes, doc should set you up and if you have no insureance, there are drug co. that will give it to you, there are experimental txs going on you can get meds for free, lots of options, just talk with your doc....good luck, it will be fine...Bam
