I like the article and will return when I do my next shopping.
Thanks for the help!
I posted this over a year ago (check out #5). You might want to look into D3, fishoil, probiotics, R-ALA, turmeric, onions, garlic, rosemary & garlic all reduce inflammation too.
Best wishes,
EP
I eat one clove of garlic roasted with olive oil eery day, and then some parsley, LOL. I also have stepped up the D3 quite a bit, several forms of probiotics, turmeric, but for the omegas, I actually use more of the liquid flax seed oil.
Big difference, along with the elimination of gluten, which I would absolutely recommend.
Mahlja, oh no!! The easiest thing for me to cut first was sugar--soda, candy, junk like that. Pick one group of foods on the list that you don't like much anyway--and get rid of it. Once you eliminate one thing, start to feel better, it will spur you on to keep cutting things out. Not that you CANT have those things--just to get creative and eat those things a different way! For instance, like MSKC said--eat lettuce instead of bread!
MSKC--great ideas!! I'm going to try a lot harder to eliminate gluten--see if it takes my pain down more. I'm still struggling a lot with it. I agree with you about sugar--cut it first and WAY less pain and fatigue. Dairy is something I've also cut WAY down. I don't eliminate it entirely, but when I do eat dairy it's tiny amounts and low fat. Like 2 tablespoons of no fat Greek yogurt with my smoothie in the morning. Otherwise, I abstain. It has helped me become more active! I can now walk for a little bit 6 days out of the week!
EPagain--thank you so much for that link! You are a paragon of wisdom in this!! Can I use your article in my group? OR, better yet, can you come on over and post some wisdom for us?? You rock! I do eat a TON of garlic, rosemary, onions, and turmeric. I have to get better about taking D3, probiotics, and fish oil. I'm trying to get pregnant so I agree with the flax oil option! I just need to find some taht's not also mixed with fish. I DO take ALA and man it has made a difference!! I have WAY less headaches. I take it in conjunction with acetyl-L-carnitine and evening primrose oil. Thanks so much!!
Nikki, thanks for your reply! I am going to try harder to be non-gluten! I really want to do the best I can at this diet before I throw in the towel and go back to tons of meds... YOu sound like you have a lot of your own diet tricks! PLease feel free to join and share them! Thanks!
All my best to you,
EP
Do yourself a favor and ask your doc for omega 3 & 6, palmitic, nervoinc, stearic (fatty ) acids testing ...think you may be surprised by results. Are you in the bottom 20% of the population for these fats? Fats you need for thyroid and sex hormones, store vitamin D and myelin...gee isn't this what a lot of you have an issue with? GET TESTED!
