Yes!! I've been having teeth issues for several years now and just started wondering if it was MS related! I never had a cavity in my life until I was mid 20's at least. I was pregnant when I got my first filling. That may tell me even more about how long I've actually had this!

OMG!! I have mouth and teeth problems too!!! I kept thinking that something else was wrong, I have very sensitive gums, I wake up with sores on the left side of my mouth, ( the numb side) where I have bitten it through the night, and a host of other problems. Jaw pain and facial pain numbness and tingling. I hope that you get some relif soon!!!

So, I don't have any cavities and never had a root canal BUT just two weeks ago I went to the dentist because I had severe pain in my right jaw and even up to my eye. He took an xray and said my teeth look as healthy as can be. It turns out that the pain in my teeth was just nerve pain - it went away after 3 days and never returned. WTF! lol Also, i have one tooth that literally feels like it's vibrating from time to time. I assume this is just a nerve going nuts. Ahhhhh MS and its very wierd symptoms... lol

I'm no Dr. or scientist but after my dx I started having teeth problems too. I read online that roids promote tooth decay. I've done crazy IV roids in the past but thankfully Tysabri took me off roids. Roids may be good for energy and the libido but they're bad for ur bones your teeth and ur heart. Roids did help me with flares though. I just wish I couldve found Tysabri sooner.

Many of the drugs used by people with MS wreck havoc with your teeth. I don' t know what drugs you are using, but they may be the root (no pun intended) of the cause.
Some drugs dry your mouth out really bad and this can lead to rapid decay.
I recently went through a whole scenario with my teeth. A fraud dentist out there wanted to remove all of my amalgam fillings and replace them with composite fillings which is a procedure deemed unethical by the American Dental Assn.
I went to another dentist and got a second opinion. I had a few small cavities and needed a cleaning. I had all of this taken care of on Monday and the dentist told me that my teeth were sound and that I'd have them for the rest of my life.
I brush twice daily and floss at least once a day just FYI.
I hope you can figure out which drug is causing this problem.
I'm sorry you've had so many of them which is not only expensive as can be but also not fun!

Be careful of dentists making dx of all of a sudden having root canals, etc. I would definitely go to several places before having a bunch of root canals. There is always the possibility of having the mysterious nerve pain that is a MS symptom in itself and does not have anything to do with your teeth.

And then there is the possibility of steroids causing problems to your teeth.

Talk to your neurologist.

BTW, I did get rid of my amalgam fillings with other fillings slowly but surely over the years. I didn't do it all at once because the fillings can itself release mercury when they are removed. So please be careful of scams and fraudulent dentists. Best of luck.
