Best of luck to anyone else out there that may be starting this drug.

All i know is that everyone reacts differently with Tecfidera...with me it was ALL GI symptoms...I'm talking REALLy bad stomach pains (felt like labor contractions), diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion that lasted for about 40 days....but after that ZERO side effects and I've been on it for around 2 years now and LOVE it!
I am sorry you feel you are going into this blind, please know that a LOT of ppl do it that way but still are very successful! If you have facebook I joined a tec group there and it was really helpful...
If I were you I would not take the aspirin with the first dose because it would put more stress on your stomach...and who needs that right? But that may not be smart advice because what if you don't have GI symptoms but you have the really bad flushing symptoms?...
So my legitimate advice is to monitor your symptoms. I kept a journal that helped me, which helped me figure out which combo was helpful for my GI symptoms since I tried EVERYTHING OTC lol
In the end I found that the simplest things helped with my indigestion Water + baking soda. As for the stomach pains I would use a heating pad and massage. Immodium was a godsend...as well as lorazepam when I just couldn't be stone cold sober through it all.
This sounds terrifying...but believe me Sherizi it was worth it! I used to have relapses ALL the time! and i used to take shots...this was really bad for me and now it's like two pills a day shoooot i'm in heaven.
I'm here for you through this experience. It was hard for me to hang on those 40 days but having my parents and online support got me through it :)
Good luck!
