Good to see you,,big hug!!!
That has to be the winner of the Weird Symptom Award.
It's awful just to imagine having that happen while trying to eat. I Remember having severe allergies when I was a teenager, sneezing non stop, my mother used to joke with her friends, saying,,,I'll never have to worry about Alma kissing any boys,,,she never stops sneezing!!
I think you need something for that, because I believe there is a risk of some food being aspire into lungs. Ask your Dr, and let me know. Just be as careful as you can.
Love, Alma
Do you eat a lot of pepper?
I did a little research and found some info on hiccups on Sharecare.com - pretty interesting stuff.
Healthwise says: "Hiccups occur when a spasm contracts the diaphragm, causing an intake of breath that is suddenly stopped by the closure of the vocal cords (glottis)."
Check it out the rest of it, here:

Also, the last QA in this article I found on RealAge.com has some interesting facts on sneezes.
The question is: Why do I sneeze when I pluck my eyebrows?
Part of the answer reads: "A sneeze -- whether it's induced by pepper, a cold, or allergies -- starts when something irritates your nasal passages. That excites the trigeminal nerve, which is the main nerve responsible for sensation in your face."
Check out the rest of the answer at the bottom of the page, here:

But as Alma mentions, it'd probably be a good idea to address this issue with your doctor, as it could be symptomatic of other problems (especially if you have hiccups that last more than 48 hours), as described in the Sharecare.com article, and there could even be a risk of choking, at the very worst.
Hope all this gets worked out soon, so that at the very least you can relax enjoy your meals :-)
that thing about the nerve is most likely it. If it continues I will talk to my neuro about.
Thanks again
