I don't know what the deal is with your symptoms. A headache and a sore throat? Doesn't sound very common with MS.

The only headaches I have are side effects from my interferon shots. I get headaches the day after a shot of interferon. I got sore throats when I smoked but have not had one in over a decade and don't know anyone who does who has sore throats from MS other than people with allergies or sinus problems.

Sounds like other than MS, but I am not a doctor so it may be best to keep searching for answers from a competent doctor.

Are you seeing a doctor who specializes in MS? If not, call the MS Society and ask for references for one who does specialize in MS.

If you cannot get answers, it is your RIGHT to see your medical records. You should be told what kind of MS you have. If the doctor was competent at all, you would know what kind of MS you have and what the results were from your MRI. Demand answers and keep on advocating for yourself.

I agree with you 100%. That dr that went on vacation does specializes in MS, well he is a neurologist. I talked to my husband's sister that is a nurse and that's what she was thinking (sinus problems)Why can't I find GOOD dr's :(

I just have added one other thing -- not all MS specialist are good doctors. We have had a few in this area who were awful. They actually told people with definite MS that they didn't have MS when even I could tell by their walk that they had MS. I think the guy was nuts and he just wanted to get rid of patients. He had a horrible bedside manner. And another MS doc was really good with research and terrible with bedside manner and really turned over her patients to her Physician Assistant. And she was wrong on occasion. But luckily for me and a lot of others, there is another great MS doctor in my area who has a good bedside manner and knows his stuff about MS and doesn't take any money from the drug companies. Unfortunately he will retire sometime near in the future.

So, in a brief note, not all MS specialists are good at MS. It takes some searching to find the right one and the right dx. Best of luck to you.

I only had those symptoms when I had/have sinusitis. You might want to get some allergy meds to see if that helps. I have heard of swallowing issues, but not a sore throat.

I think if you can have swallowing problem, you can have soreness.
I have swallowing problems, soreness and occasional cramping in my.throat that is painful. The second specialist has given me possible primary/progressive until she has the results from the thoracic MRI, LP, blood work and vep.

I get horrible headaches and a sore throat which always includes the feeling as if I am choking or could at any moment. So I would not rule out it being MS related.. My headaches come from spasms that I get in my neck and shoulders which close off the nerves or blood flow and it triggers a headache. Sometimes it is just a day other times it goes on for weeks..
I wish you the best of luck finding a doctor who wants to help and actually knows what they are talking about.. I have been in DE for a year now and still have not found the right doctor... But don't give up rumor has it there do actually exist! LOL

Thank you ALL. I am getting so PISSED off, and taking out on my husband sometimes. Are you having mood swings too? I am changing my family dr to my husbands, he is an indain and he hoped my husband, maybe he's the one, I will keep trying, not giving up!I want some fun days :)

Maybe he will refer me to a GOOD BRAIN DR that KNOWS MS!
