Hey everyone:
I'm having a relapse but I don't have any insurance. I'm 120 thousand dollar in debt in student loans and I've been told that solumerdol is gonna cost 1500 dollars :-( Does anyone know any program that can give me financial assistance in this regard? Thanks so much!

Yes,
Idea - Relapse no insurance < Google it for your area. Some states have aid and check into your county resources for help with this. Have you applied for SSDI?
-120k student loan debt< Student loans may be "forgiven" if a person becomes disabled. Again, Google/search forebearance or disability and student loans.
Solumedrol < contact the company directly or look into local health clinics for local help. Some drug companies will mail you the drug directly if approved 4 financial assistance.
Financial assistance< is there a local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in FL? And again....back to the computer (sorry) Some MS programs have volunteers that can help with getting these obsticles more manageable. Best of luck-keep us posted.

That's excellent advice from Samona. The balance of my student loans were forgiven when I became too sick to continue to work from MS. The National MS Society gives cash assistance (which you must now declare on your taxes) and Academic Medical Centers (University Hospitals) have funds to help you with the bill.

Definitely resources out there.

As Melanie suggested contact the national ms society, they have some programs for those with no insurance.

I get help from here, they are also the only one I know that will help with insurance premiums

My neuro always lets me use the 25 pills a day for 3 day treatment of Prednison 50 mg. The are an easier way to take the steroids during a MSrelapse. They cost me 42$ from Rite Aid.

Great advice from everyone! Princess is right though.. just ask your Neuro to write you high dose Predisone. It's hard to take that many pills but they are CHEAP.. I think $5 at walmart and will help the same as the IV.

i agree with what everyone is saying and really sympathize with the student loans! ill be in the same position in a couple years, so totally looking forward to it (sarcasm)

my neuro just writes a script for a oral tablet, i was skeptic that that small of a dose would do anything at first, its helping slowly

as for programs, call the national ms society in your area and they could seriously end up helping a lot. so youd probably have to google it, and spend the better part of an afternoon making a bunch of phone calls, might be worth it tho
