the first time i had the drip i got very anxious and very angry. after a while the side effects subsided and i felt ok. i did not take an oral to come down though i wonder if it would have make a difference. the second time i did it for 5 days and i felt a lot better for about three weeks after.

It kept me awake for 4 days. But it didn't help get me back to work. Dunno what it did to the MS.

I was on a steady diet of "Roids" for like 1 1/2 years but got off of that monthly iv and I gave up Copax now and just take Tysabri. Solumedrol helped me, especially during a flare- up but I didnt want to deal with any long term side effects.

I have taken IV solumedrol two times over the course of 12 weeks, once for my initial flare of left side extreme weakness, the second time for optic neuritis. I was extrememly anxious and moody the first time around, better then second, and had insomnia both times. Those are common side effects, and can be managed with additional medications. It's very very important to have an oral taper when coming off high dose prednisone, to avoid a rare but serious syndrome of the adrenal glands. Now I take Copaxone, but I wouldnt' hesitate if I needed the steroids again. The worst part is getting the stupid IV in. solumed is very hard on the veins, do NOT let them give it in a hand vein.
