I have an MRI appointment scheduled for tomorrow. The neurologist ordered one for my brain and cervical spine, with and without contrast. When I made the appointment they told me it could all be done tomorrow. When they called to confirm my appointment the woman said they were wrong and I am going to have to make a second appointment. I asked her if they could at least do the ones without contrast tomorrow, then the second appointment could be for the ones with contrast. She said no.

Is this the norm? I swear when I went in the last time they did the brain and entire spinal cord back to back, without and then with contrast. I hate the MRI machine and I seriously hate needles (sometimes I pass out, not fun). It seems ridiculous and excessive to have to inject me with the dye on two different appointments, possibly within a few days of each other. I'm pretty annoyed about the whole thing. Do most places separate the MRIs this way?
