Retiring neuro/ herbalife

I got a letter in the mail yesterday stating that my neuro is retiring. Does anybody else find it hard to switch after you've found a doctor you like? I really liked my doctor. He answered all my questions, was extremely personable and he had a lot of experience with MS.

On another note, has anybody ever tried Herbalife or any other supplements to boost energy? I may start even being a distributor. All of the reviews I read said that after a week of using these health products, people just in general felt better. More energy. It may not work for underlying conditions, but I have to try something.

Yes, I know the feeling re riring neuro docs. My great neuro doc retired 12/31/12 and I had him for over 14 yrs. He was one in a billion. I haven't seen his replacement yet so dont know what will happen. Good luck w/ yr situation.
Re Herballife: I heard govt is taking action against them because they are multi-level marketing scheme. I wouldn't buy fr them.

I am in the same situation as you with the exception that my new neuro doesn't agree with my prior neuro. I hate the starting over part because you get asked the same questions over and over again. Good luck with the herbalife keep us posted if it helps

That is my thing. My neuro knew MY case. Everybody is different so it's like dating. You have to re introduce yourself to someone else. It's not just doctor notes... I am a little nervous to meet the new guy. He is supposed to be REALLY good, but I liked my doctor....

I double ckd Herbalife and it's because they're a "pyramid" scheme. The product may be good but the govt is looking into them I heard on the radio. Perhaps just buy their vit. or go to local co-op or health food store and get quality product. It's prob cheaper.

My neuro retired last June. I was really scared of the search for a new neuro,dealing with the potential of conflicting dx as I had seen 4 neuros getting a final dx. My PCP recommended to me my current neuro and I'm quite pleased. This guy was my first neuro I had ever seen, and did not dx me with MS. In my frustration I went for a second opinion where I got my dx.

did interview other doctors though before deciding on my current neuro. It is worth interviewing doctors and questioning them about their practice and experience. I established a list of questions I asked each doctor. Yea, I had to pay each doctor, but I believe it was money well spent in the end.

The MS Society has list of MS specialist Neuro docs in your area. They cant recomend but can give you the list of MS specialists.

Hey there!!!! :) Sorry to hear your doc is retiring. If you don't like your new one, PM me and I can let you know of the group I go to, and they have offices throughout the Twin Cities. I LOVE my doctor and couldn't be happier with him! Good luck on your switch and I'm sure it will work out for you! :)

As far as Herbalife goes, they DO have excellent products! I would recommend them to anyone. Their company is no more of a pyramid scheme than Mary Kay, Avon, Amway, etc. It always bothers me when these companies are referred to as schemes. If you believe in the products and find them beneficial, GO FOR IT!!! They are no more of a pyramid scheme than McDonalds.......the people at the top make more money than the people at the bottom do and McDonald's isn't referred to as a scheme. Follow your dreams but be wise in what you do!!

I take Juice Plus vitamins which also fall under the "pyramid scheme", but I do think they help me with energy. It may be snake oil, but atleast I feel like I am doing something for my MS.
