I havent really experienced that but I am unsatisfied with Rebif. Does anyone else find that injections really hurt? Also, the nights I inject, I find my legs lock in a straight position and I feel bad. I am going to ask my neuro about coming off of Rebif

shot days... I do get elevated pressure only for a short time after my shot, like 15 minutes later and for 20 minutes maybe. I don't take any pain killers and I always take my shots a couple hours befor bed. BETHY if you use the Auto-stabber, try life without it, much less pain.

YES, I have lots of things with MS but blood pressure was always perfect. The last two times I was at the doctor, my pressure was up for me, a "high normal", it was really high for me, as I always had a runners pressure (that's what the nurse always called it, low). But I can't figure out why. My doc seems to think because I was in pain when I went to see him, pain can make it high, but this is too weird, and it seems to be higher on shot days or hours following. I thought I was blaming something else on MS but interesting to hear somebody else has this question too. I don't have an answer but Im 46, always had perfect pressure and now it's high, Im on Rebif 3 full months now. ??

I do get racing heart and definite night sweats..i don't take my blood pressure at that time, but when i do, it's perfectly normal.

I just started Rebif a few months ago and my shots kill me! The side effects are not so bad for me but I think I might have to go off rebif b/c its too painful of an injection. I was on Copaxne for about 6 months but I went into anaphylactic shock and have been nervous about going back on it. What do you all recommend?

How long do you have it out of the fridge before injecting? I take it out of the fridge at least 1 to 2 hrs before injecting (some people do ALOT longer).

Do you ice the area at all before injecting? I am doing that at least 5 minutes beforehand and it's still cold when I inject. The ice really helps (there's those coldpacks that work really well for that too.)

Haven't had BP issues as of yet, but I get a scorching tummy ache over night when I do my shot. Pepcid has a slight placebo effect, but inevitably it wakes me or keeps me up all night. Definitely skip the Automutilator. Also, certain areas hurt more than others. I've found that it's a lot more painful if I inject above my belly button line.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate you both taking the time to respond. I am actually using the autoinject - do you think that is the issue. I can't tell if the medicine is stinging me or its the actual needle that hurts. I did not have this issue with Copaxone but I guess all meds are different.

Burzi, try doing it WITHOUT the autoinject and with the ice, maybe the combination will help. (It burns if I inject to fast, so I know it's a factor).

Agreed. I think the Autostabber injects it too fast. Injecting manually allows me to put themedicine in really slowly, which hurts a lot less.

I agree too - it is alot better without the autoinjector. I never thought I would rather use just the needle - but I do.

The Rebif makes my heart beat faster for the first couple of minutes after I inject but then it goes away. I get the flu like symptoms and a major headache.. but they eventually go away.. in time for the next shot... ;)

Here's what I do.advil,take meds out at beginning of week,warm compress, lidocaine patch, take injection at night to sleep off side effects,take more advil. My bp has always been perfect too...at my gyn appt this week my systolic was high for me 135....never over 120 before.....call ms lifelines and ask them what to do to help...I rotate injection sites, make sure your injector pen is showing the three lines on it. Mine had gotten off and the injections hurt alot more. The 44mcg seems to hurt more than the others. I am on my second month of Rebif. Can't tell any differnece in my symptoms yet, but it takes awhile to get in your system fully. Hope this helps...

I've been on Rebif this year and don't seem to have any problem with it. Shots are never comfortable but seems nothing out of the ordinary.

Hi I have been on rebif since sept.08. At first I had not shot pain, now I dread my shot days. It hurts so bad I have to pull the autoject out before the dose fully is injected. I am on 44s. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was on Copaxone for 8 years. But was not helping me anymore.
