I used mine at first but it is much better doing it yourself. The auto injector can be quite hasty and give you bruises. I would do them yourself it will be alot better. Also take an aleve or two right after and you shouldn't get any side effects.

I take Betaseron, also got one of the auto injectors. Needles never have bothered me. I can do the injection with or without. It is handy for hard to reach places, like your butt.

With Betaseron a nurse comes to your home to train you, and mine even gave me her cell phone number if I had any questions. Talk to your nurse about it. Also, check the web site for Rebif out for more info.

The biggest diffence between using or not usint the injector is you don't pinch the skin up if you use it. That will cause a bruise. If you don't do that, you won't get the bruise.

I used the autoinjector for the first couple but like it SO much better without!! So just do whatever is comfortable to you. A nurse comes out to show you how to do everything for Rebif too.

I think it hurts less when you inject manually, mainly because you can inject more slowly. I also take Aleve. I inject in the morning before breakfast, because I was getting stomach pain (not nausea) that was keeping me up at night. I put my autostabber in the closet. If you're doing insulin injections, it should be a snap to inject Rebif manually. It's worth trying, though, especially when you want to inject into harder to reach places.
