I've been dxd with fibromyalgia as well as ms. I have an appointment with my neuro on Thursday and I've started having new and not necessarily painful symptoms, but very annoying. I'm still trying to sort out what is caused by the ms and what is caused by the fibro.
Since the symptoms started less than 48 hours ago I'm waiting to tell him Thursday. It started with my big toe going numb, then up into the arch of my foot, then to my ankle. It stayed for the better part of a day then went to pins and needles feeling, and my toes have been drawing inward since. Pins and needles as well as toes drawing inward happens from time to time but never more than an hour. It's been going on for about a day and a half now. My ears also have started ringing and I don't have an ear or sinus infection. There have been a few times I felt like they've been stuffed with cotton and then I can hear and feel my heart beat in my ears. Fatigue is getting worse and my legs and arms feel like jello.
I hate having not only one illness, but two, and I hate even more that I can't figure out what is causing what.
Anyone out there having similar issues? And if so, what's your take?

It is difficult when one has a dx of both fibro and MS because the symptoms are so similar. Often, early stages of MS symptoms could be mistaken for fibro and the dx could come of fibro when in actuality it is really MS. Patients are being given the dx of fibro when they don't fit the actual criteria of widespread pain in all four quadrants of the body and 11 of the 18 tender points. It seems to me a lot of doctors dx fibro when they are afraid to give an EARLY dx of MS. These dxes are really left to the interpretatoin of the doctor. I am fairly certain that there are a pretty large number of people that are misdiagnosed either people with MS who actually have fibro, people with fibro who actually have MS, or people with both that have only been diagnosed with one of the conditions.
