I went to six flags today and was feeling really good. I went on a roller coaster and about 3/4 way thru I started feeling really weird. I could not get my seat belt off so they had to help me out and over to a wheelchair. I was really dizzy and out of wack with everything. The weirdest thing was my hands were stuck in a weird position and I could not move them. They hurt real bad too. It is also 93 degrees out, which didnt help, Everyone took me over to a restaraunt with a/c and put cool wash cloths on me and i laid my head on the table. About 30 min later I was better. My husband went and got my scooter and I went to the water park and stayed in the pool the whole time.
I never had this happen to me before and it really scared me.

I never EVER got motion sickness in my whole life until 10 years ago after I had my first MS attack - now I get it all the time. I would not even attempt a roller coaster - you are a brave soul, d3bears!

I'm with Larry - it's the MS for sure.

i used to be able to go on aerobatic flights after a night of drinks with my pilot friends and never felt queezy. now i get motion sickness all the time. once it was sooo bad that i couldn't even look at movement for a long time without my world whirling.
i do miss the excitement of roller coasters! but now i get to be there to see my kids faces when they get off the coaster and are in terror but want to "do it again!"

The fact that it was 93 degrees out would also multiply the effects, would be my guess.

I've never had motion sickness (thank God!), and this weekend is the 15 year since my dx. The heat can make me fold though.

sounds like vertigo to me....can't play my video games anymore because of it..water was probably the best thing for you when this happened ...i go running for the vent blowing cool air conditioned air....good luck!

had the same thing happen last year when i climbed up the stairs of my sisters deck...then had to have cold washcloths put all over my neck...i felt so sick...and i agree with lilmargie..grin...i would never attempt a rollar coaster at this point..lol...you are brave...hope your feeling better..smile

Just wanted to chime in on the roller coaster part. I remember going on the highest roller coaster in the world at the time, now they, Cedar Point has made an even bigger one, go figure! Anyway, I remember getting off of it and feeling numb all over. Will never know if MS had anything to do with it or if it was just the height, but I'll never forget the experience.

I had my first attack in February while at Disney world. I always wonder if It had something to do with going on some rough roller costers. I was fine the day I went on the roller coasters but the next morning was when I woke up and could not see right. The doctors say that it probably had nothing to do with it, but I wonder?

That's happend to me many times. One of the worst though was out deep sea fishing.........sea sickness, fainting............awfull . And they did'nt return to shore for hours and hours. So, there I sat........on my butt on the floor of the boat, with a bait bucket no less. YUCK............. I had to stay on the floor of the boat cause I kept fainting..............NEVER will I try deep sea fishing again. It took me days to get better.
I can get that way in a car sometimes.....just the motion. Vertigo............

The part of this story that grabbed me was the weird hand symptoms, I was getting part of my sleeve worked on Thursday (tattoo sleeve that is) and during it the back of my hand got cold, locked up in a weird position and started hurting like hell, this was definetly a new one for me. Got to love the oddity that is MS.

This is all good to know. I love rolercoasters, so I'll know what to watch for.

The idea that our nervous systems overload makes sense. I have something similar going on right now.

I really appreciate all your comments it lets me know that I am not alone.
Ever since that day at six flags, my hand has had episodes of extreme pain for about 5 minutes and then goes away.

I will never ride another roller coaster !!!!!!!!!!!!
