Have you been diagnosed with MS?
Many symptoms improved a few months
after starting therapy with interferon1-B.
Don't be afraid-it's quite foreign to most
and was for me. I did get used to it and
try to do it religiously.
There are many meds for pain.
For painful spasticity I take baclofen.
Good luck to you. Feel better soon.
best Regards,

I'm very confused about my pain meds, but without them I have real trouble.
A.
The thing is, it is different for everyone. But the Valium was a life saver.
I take Opana for generalized pain.
I take Baclofen for spascitity.
I think you might do better being referred to a pain management specialist. Most of the time a neurologist can't keep up with the new trends in pain medications, it just isn't their speciality. Also, most pain medications are addictive, and the neuro may think you are just looking for a buzz, not taking your pain seriously. You will get focused help with dealing with your pain through a PMS.
There is a great sub-group here, "MS people dealing with MS Pain" you should check out. Alot of good advice there, and background on MS and Pain.
Other friends talk about Neurotin helping them with pain.
I take Zantaflex for spasticity, helping me sleep and also Ambien to help me sleep. Insomnia is one of my main symptoms. No pain, just insomnia.
Best of luck with the pain and your doctor. Make a list and hopefully they can answer all the contingencies re any conflict with other meds.
One other thing is that exercise can sometimes help the pain according to one person with MS nerve pain. She says that walking actually helps her. Weird to me but it works. Exercise is always good for you.
