SHERRIF DUDE CAME OUT HERE WITH PROFESSIONAL LOGGER DUDE LITTLE WHILE AGO, AS I GOT THROUGH EATTING. THE REALLY REALLY COOL LOGGER DUDE TOOK DOWN THAT HUGE ASH TREE IN THE BACK OF MY HOUSE,IN LESS THEN 20 MINUTES!!!! ABOUT 5-10!? LAID THAT HUGE SOG RIGHT DOWN MY BACK YARD!!!!! AND, THE HUGE, MASSIVE THUMP THAT HUGE TREE MADE WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!! THE EARTH SHOOK!!! AND, IT MADE THIS AMAZING SOUND!? JUST WACTHING & HEARING THAT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING THAT I'VE EVER SEEN!!!
I'D KILL TO HAVE A GREAT VIDEO OF IT FALLING!!! THAT WAS ONE HELL OF A THUMP! FREAKING AMAZING! NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT!!!!!
AND HE TOOK THAT CEDAR THAT WAS LEFT IN THE FRONT DOG PEN!!!!! AND, THE TALL ELM BESIDE THE HOUSE IN FRONT OF MY BEDROOM WINDOW! AND, THE 3 CEDARS LEFT AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY! AND HE DROPPED THE REST OF THAT HUGE SPLINTERED OFF ONE IN THE WOODS! AND THAT OTHER TALL ASH TREE IN THE YARD NEXT TO THE WOODS!

It must have been impressive ,the sights and sound of it. I can imagine the dogs are still shaking scared, poor little things. Your life is full of adventures and excitement. So happy all that work is getting done. Enjoy the new table, but don't forget to rest.

But it was funny! When I let them out, they ran out the door, turned & then went--DAMN!!! WHAT THE HELL??? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT HUGE MONSTROSITY??? Then; OMG!!!! IT'S THAT TREE!!!
AS SOON AS THEY SAW THAT HUGE MONSTOSITY LAYING ON THE GROUND THEY STARTED FREAKING OUT & BARKING AT IT!!! LOL LOL LOL THEN THE: OH SHIT, MOMENT!
None of them can run out in the yard right now! Due to massive trees & tree debree laying all over the place! My place is pretty much covered with it now!!! I will be glad when all of it is cleaned up so that my babies can one day run again!
Some people don't believe in crates, but I love them, its the only way to provide peace and security to our babies. Now I only have two dogs, can't walk to the front gate, so when someone comes to my house , I just call them to their crates and close the door. They love their crates, its the only time they are fully relaxed. Both my dogs are big, a GS and a 50 lb mutt.
Glad to know they will have a nicer yard soon.

When my dogs are in a dead run, esp.. when they first get out in the open space, they run like crazy dogs, like maniacts!!! LOL :) And, they have come close to hitting trees several times now! And, if a dog hits a tree dead on in a run they will break their necks & kill themselves! So I've been really worried about all those trees for that reason also!
Now! I will have a LOT of trees gone out of their ways so that they can have a much freer run now w/o danger of them hitting one & breaking their necks! Esp.... when I'm hitting the tennis ball for them & they are running to get it! And, esp.... so when I retrieve them in part of my long driveway! There were two big cedars right at the middle of it & then those at the end of it! And, now they are gone!!!
I had 3 cedars right as you come in the gate in my front yard & two of those were put on my house by the tornado.... And, then two right at the side middle of my driveway & then several at the end of it! ALL OF THOSE ARE GONE NOW!!! SMELLS GREAT OUTSIDE with all that cedar! :)
And, YA! I think that crates are great!!! I wouldn't have a dog w/o having a crate or carrier for it to go in! I think people that carry on with being against crates or carriers either are a few hairs short of a dog!!! LOL :) That's the most insane BS I've ever heard!!! They represent dens to the dogs & dogs love them! They naturally look for anything to get get in or under because they are den creatures!
YES!!! IF A PERSON IMPRISIONS THE DOG IN THERE NON-STOP ALL DAY EVERYDAY THEN THEY ARE CRUEL WHEN USED THAT WAY!!! But NORMAL DOG LOVING PEOPLE DO NOT USE THEM THAT WAY!!! Hell! I leave the crate doors open & my dogs will even go put theirselves in there!!! Chaser, my Service Brittany, will walk up, if the door is closed, & take his pawn & pull the door open & then walk on in & lay down!
If I did NOT have crates, I wouldn't have to worry about the trees taking my house out because my DOGS WOULD!!! :) My dogs would eat the sheetrock right off the wall!!! When dogs, esp... a pack of them are left alone in the house they get bored! And, they get into things! Trust me! They do! Whether you see them or know about it or not! And, they can get into very very dangerous shit!
They can easily get into any medicines that you might have sitting around & eat the entire bottle or pack or whatever it's in!? They can eat or chew on electrical wiring & electricute themselves--AND BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE WITH IT!!! They can get into household cleaners, poisens, toxins, you name it, & easily poisen themselves! Kill themselves!!! And, if they do live from any of these things it can cost you a huge fortune at the vet! Mine would do ALL of that!!! If left unattended! And, they can jump through a window trying to get outside & cut themselves all to pieces & bleed out right there! They'd be dead by the time that you got home!
They eat sheetrock, doors, any kind of wiring! Tehy can eat video tapes, CD'S, DVD'S & require intestional surgery! Because they can easily plug up their intestines or even have them cut open by any sharp objects that they might get in there! IT IS WAYYY TO DANGEROUS!!! IT IS ALWAYS BEST, IF YOU CAN, TO LEAVE YOUR DOG IN A PROTECTED CRATE OR CARRIER UNTIL YOU RETURN HOME!
So I TOTALLY agree with you!!! And, like today! I had my house open! But I did have my screen doors locked! So when that guy came & knocked on the screen door, my pack saw this strange guy there & they wanted to get him! :) They were jumping all over the door & barking, etc.... I needed to go outside & talk with these guys w/o any interuptions from these guys! And, I needed ALL OF MY DOGS OUT OF THE WAY & AS PROTECTED AS PROTECTED AS POSSIBLE WHILE THESE GUYS WERE LAYING DOWN HUGE TREES NEXT TO & UP AGAINST MY HOME! It would have been FAR TO DANGEROUS FOR THEM ANY OTHER WAY!!!
I think it is our responsibility to keep them safe!!! And as safe as possible! They are like wild little hyper-active two yr olds! LOL :) And, they have to be watched out for! And, have to be protected--from themselves mostly! Because they get into everything!!! Dogs learn about their environment by putting everything in their mouths! And, in OUR environment that is not only dangerous to them, but very very deadly!
It's like letting them run lose with no fences & no boundries! Sure it would be great if all dogs could do that!!! Sure!!! But the fact is: They cannot!!! They will be killed if they do that! By automobiles! By neighbors with guns! By wild animals!? By FALLING TREES!!! LOL :) TORNADOS! LOL :)
So, anyway!? People who don't want to keep their dogs safe by using a den like crate or carrier are just plain loopy!!! Why don't they just NOT put up fences or keep their dogs up & let them play in traffic & see what happens!!! :)
Sorry!!! When it comes to dogs I can sure get on a role!!! LOL :) I love your input!!! And, your way of thinking!!! And, mine instantly quieted down & went to sleep when I put them up today!

We use to own a grooming shop, and you have no idea how many people lost their dogs bc they " love" their baby and refused to crate them. Every dog toys filled with fiberfill are very dangerous, because when ingested, can't be seen in xrays!! My oldest daughter is dogs 24/7 an very passioned about all this issues. When someone bad talks cratting ,she ask if they ever used a crib or playpen for their children, ,,,why? Oh to keep them safe,,,then duhhh what do you do to protect your dog? Speechless!!! LOL
We spent countless hours sitting, just watching them being dogs, running in the yard. Relaxing and laughing, but the minute you are not looking,,,,trouble,,a two year old in action!!! Her older dogs ,go poop then run back to crate. And then people think its cruel,,,for God' s sake, they go in by themselves!!! My mutt' s crate is on the balcony and sometimes I block her entrance, LOL she would come and whine, so I realize I've been insensitive to her need for security.

If just one of those had droped on my house it would have landed right down the middle of it, or to one side or the other cutting my house in half & flattening my home! Much less 2-3 of those or the entire tree! And, there were huge heavy limbs that went off of each branch, that were like smaller trees themselves!
I have nice big holes in my back yard now where the tree made them when it fell & ripped up large places in my yard! I get to fix all of them once the tree is gone!!! :) Lucky me!!! LOL :)
I finally got that one huge hole in my neighbors fence; that separates my property & his; fixed! I had a short scrap roll of welded wire & I hooked it on to the farm panel & then stretched it over to the next old fence post that he had in his run down old fence! I then steepled it on to that! And, also drove a T-Post there! Want to make sure that my dogs do not get in that very very deep huge mess over there because there are snakes in there, raccoons, groundhogs, &
God only knows what else!?
It would be sooo incrediably dangerous for my dogs to get in there! And, I would have no way to get to them!
