Take Care
Remissions don't necessarily mean that all of your symptoms go away. Early on in the disease, they might, but I know I have everyday symptoms that form my current baseline, and act as a barometer for how I'm doing from day to day/week to week. If I have new or worsening symptoms, I first check for an infection, or simply a period of "overdoing it." If they last longer than 24 to 48 hours, I call my neuro and let him make the call as to whether I'm in an exacerbation -- and what to do about it.

Be greatful for this online community.
A lot of anguish and questions in here.
The sad thing melanie is that no one knows what will happen. Some people have one episode, then never again and return to "normal", while others progress towards total disability, at different rates. The only thing you can do is take it one day at a time and see what happens. I never have a day that is symptom free, just days that are better than others. Have you discussed any disease modifying treatments like Avonex, Betaseron, ReBif, Copaxone? They will not relieve or stop symptoms, but MAY slow the progression of the MS.
I wish you the best! We are all here for you, and most of us have been there before. So lean on us!
