Has anyone heard of this drug or used it? There is another name for it but I didn't catch it. Not sure of spelling.
I went to a new Dr for pain & multiple chronic diseases & she was saying she would like to get me on that drug & it would replace methodone, epilum & a couple of drugs I am on.
It is not in the methodone type group nut more on the tramadol type.
I was seeing a pain specialist but I was booked in for having the ketamine infusion which takes 5 days with constant monitoring & 2 drips, 24 hour monitoring & increasing the amount. I was on the low/start level & it took 3 or 4 Dr's, nurses etc to try to wake me the 1st day & I was really drowsy all the time. I was pulled off the drug & sent home the next day & told it was too dangerous for me to have it in future.
The side effects at home was I was spaced out & constantly falling asleep & not able to even put a sentence together or remember what I was trying to say & constantly upset. I was still like this & getting worse 10 days later when David took me to our local Dr she was shocked at how bad I was.
Her guess at what had happened was it put all my drugs effects sp she reduced some of my medications.
I am still having a lot of problems
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I found the answer to your question, The drugs's brand name is nucynta. I learned about it at my ain center a couple years ago. I was interested because it is supposed to be less constipating.

It would mean I could get off quite a few medications that are very strong. I hope that it works IMG_0157.JPG but they will be going very cautiously working with Pain Dr & Neurology.

Sounds like I have got a really got Dr now for chronic diseases & pain who will look at new treatments.
I have to remind the pharmacy to send me the drug reactions list when they send me the drugs because they think that they can skip it once they send me one. I need to reread the list and be reminded because I forget. Anyway, I have to see what all the side effects regularly on my drugs because otherwise it makes no sense some times to what I am going through weird symptoms.
The pharmacist seems to be the most knowledgeable about the drugs than any doctor. Have you spoken with your pharmacist? They have always helped me a lot more than the doctor.
