the only pain i get regularly during sex is rib pain. seems to bring on an MShug when vigorous... good luck to you, hope you find an answer soon! Peace*

I would love to say that I have pain during sex but i don't seem to want it anymore so that would be no....but when I try it's usually my legs that hurt so I will try another way...sorry I can't help you but good luck to you maybe you have a UTI (at least that can be fixed) LOL

melanie, let us know what the ob-gyn has to say about that. I too have that same burning that subsides quickly but makes it uncomfortable while trying to ENJOY! I don't think it's the ms. I think it's our age. Thanks, Nan

nannypoo and melanie, I think it's your age, too. Menopause will do that to you. You should try KY jelly, just for insertion. I'm not sure if I've ever had an MS hug or not. But, about 7 or 8 years ago, LONG before I knew that I had MS, I would feel like I was going to die when my husband was on top. I could not catch my breath at all. To the point of panic. My husband passed away 6 years ago, so I haven't had that feeling in quite a while.

As KarenLenn pointed out it could be age and the ob/gyn can give you estrogen cream to improve the lining of the vag.
Another thing to have checked is your bladder. I suffered from pain for a long time and was treated for everything but bladder. Finally this new neuro sent me to a urologist when I told him I had developed incontinence. Seems my bladder has fallen and I will be having the sling surgery in a couple of weeks. I think this has been my problem to a lot of issues all along and it just now progressed to the incontinence for it to be recognized as a bladder issue.

Can you be more specific...as in describing the PAIN...dull ache, sharp pain, etc.? I've had "electric-shock shooting pains" (nerve pain) down there on occasion...however, I get them any & everywhere! Sometimes they're so intense that it feels like I'm trying to "push out a baby" again...& I"m referring to the PAIN where it feels like your Pelvic bones are breaking down there! I doubt that "old age" has anything to do with my situation...as I've been having them for decades! Maybe something went wrong during one of my deliveries?? IDK??

However, I did notice that you mentioned more of a "burning" sensation...whereas, that is not what I have...even though "burning" is ALSO a Paresthesia! I don't seem to have pain during sex, except for certain positions where it feels like my bladder is being bruised...however, I think my cervical canal has shrunk since my hysterectomy in 1991. I've been checked for 'fallen bladder' several times...so again...IDK?? I've just "chalked it up" as more nerve pain...with soooo many other "unexplained symptoms!" Sorry, not much help!

I also have a shooting, intense pain in my pelvic area. Sometimes it is a tingling feeling, but mostly the shooting pain. It comes and goes. After I have this pain, then I am very numb in that area. This is how everything first started with my MS. I had that pain for about a week and then I woke up one morning and my pelvic area and whole left leg were numb. I would be very interested in knowing what your OB/GYN says. As for pain during sex.....I don't even have the desire since I started my meds.

thanks for all of your support here. yes the doctor says age is part of it for the thinning of the vaginal walls. my bladder is in proper position and no apparent lumps or cysts, i was relieved for that. however he did tell me that i was very full and constipated. i think thts so often that i dont realize it antmore. i get pressure down there that feels like i need to pass a cantaloupe. just recently the new copaxone has helped me to actually feel the movemnts again. i have connected that my leg pain is lessened when i take a good one finally. my muscles in my butt, seems like all of them even deep under the max glutes are just hard and frozen all the time and that i sit on rocks all the time. but i am thankful that the ob/gyn said there is nothing that he sees wromg. thanks for all your support, it really helps.
