WHILE AGO I HAD THAT SUDDEN PAIN IN MY HEAD/ESP..... RT EAR AGAIN!!! AND, AT THE SAME TIME I GOT THIS SUDDEN BIZZARE IN MY THROAT!!! LIKE IF ANY OF YOU HAVE EVER HAD TO SWALLOW THAT COCTAIL MIXTURE THAT MAKES YOUR THROAT FEEL ALL NUM & WEIRD!!! IT'S THAT FEELING!!! AND, IT'S STILL THERE!!! IT'S LIKE A NUMB GOT SOMETHING STUCK IN MY THROAT FEELING! AND, I JUST DON'T FEEL GOOD!!! MY EARS HURT! ESP... MY RIGHT ONE!?
I CALLED MY FRIEND & I AM WAITING FOR HER TO CALL ME BACK! I DON'T KNOW IF THIS SOME NEW MS TYPE SYMPTOM OR FLAIR, OR IF IT'S CAUSED BY MY C-SPINE ISSUE, OR IF IT'S SOMETHING TOTALLY!? IT'S FREAKING ME OUT!!!!

I on the other hand have terrible ear and neck pain but it's not throat pain.
Hopefully you will get to the bottom of it soon.
That stuff is HORRIBLE!!!! I HATE IT!!! I ALWAYS TURN IT DOWN, SINCE I GOT STUCK WITH THE 1ST ONE!
IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS CHOAKING ON SOMETHING REALLY NASTY!!! IT'S LIKE THE LIQUID IS SOOO THICK THAT IT ACTUALLY MAKES YOU CHOAK! AND, THAT SUPPOSED NUMB FEELING THAT YOU GET FROM THAT GOD AWFUL LIQUID JUST MAKES IT WORSE!!! IT'S LIKE TRYING TO SWALLOW A HUGE DIAMATER CORN DOG WHOLE, & GETTING IT STUCK IN YOUR TROAT & THEN CHOAKING ON IT!?
ANYWAY, THAT'S HOW MY THROAT FEELS!!! AND, THE EAR PAIN IS AWFUL!
I went to a near by urgent care clinic & I got the sorry one there! He is always so non-caring & crabby!!!!! And, he was his usual crabby, don't give a crap self! I tried to tell him that I thought it was an infection of some kind. By the time I went I believed it was tonsilitis, or something like that! That's what it feels like now! And, I was starting to feel like I was either running a fever or about to!
Well, he just basically blew me off & said that I was a complicated individual!!! SO!? I MIGHT BE COMPLICATED DUE TO MANY MEDICAL ISSUES, BUT I AM STILL HUMAN, & I AM STILL SICK! AND, I STILL NEED HELP!
ANYWAY! I totally wasted my time there! He just said that I was a complicated individual, & that he thought it was all neurological & that next time or anytime that I had another neurological even like that I needed to immediately go to the ER & that I needed to be evaluated in the ER!
So, I came back by my house on the way to the ER, & gave my dogs a break, & grabbed my school bad with some stuff to work on & went on up the the ER! I WAS running a fever by the time I left here! And, was feeling even more crappy! Then, I still had a fever when I got to the ER! The doc there said well we don't really call that a fever now, we call it an elevated temp!? I said, well, I call it a fever! And, trust me! For me & my body that is a fever!! In fact, for me, when my body or temp hits 98.8, that is a low grade fever for me! So by the time it hits 99, esp....99.6 or above I feel like I'm going to die--like right then!!!
When, mine hits the the 99's I am aching all over, chilling & feel like I haves some horrible case of the flu & practically passing out in the floor! I know one doc that says other docs think like that but that it is not true! He says that anything over 96.6 is a fever!!! 98.8 is low grade & that when you hit 99, you are getting into a pretty good fever!
Anyway, the doctor there thinks that with my symptoms, combined with the fever that it is an infection! He put me on AB's for the infection! And, then pain meds for the horrible HA/EA!!! I didn't have any money so I couldn't get them filled! But, I did still have my Naprosyn & Tramodal, & Tylenol when I got home, so I loaded up!
My best friend said that she had her phone turned on & that she would leave it on, so that I could call & let her know! She was really worried about me, & called me as I was about to leave & said; ARE YOU AT THE ER??? I said NO! SHE SAID, BUT YOUR ON YOUR WAY RIGHT??? I said WHY, DO U THINK I NEED TO GO!? And, she said, YA!!! WITH YOUR HEAD & EARS IN THAT KIND OF PAIN, ESP..... FOR THIS LONG, I THINK SO!!! She was concerned that my bad C-spine injury, & my MS related stuff!
She thought that it was either my C-spine injury putting pressure on my cord!? OR my MS stuff flairing up!? She kept asking me if I was still having the numbness & tingling in my left hand, & if I was having any anywhere else!? And, if I was still feeling dizzy!? She was also concerned about my heart, & about a possible stroke! She said that she was thinking that it was one of those, & was leaning toward the spine/cord thing &/or the MS shit!?
Anyway she was supposed to have her phone turned on & be listening for me to call!! So she could know how I was doing!? And, which one it was, & if I was going to be okay or not!? And, since I didn't have any money she was going to help me get my meds!
But, for whatever reason either her phone somehow got turned off or, something happened on her end where she couldn't!? So, anyway I don't have my other meds tonight, but I'm sure that my friend will call tomorrow & check on things, & on me!?
So, YA! IT'S EITHER THAT VIRUS THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT--IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE WHAT I GOT!!! OR A BACTERIAL INFECTION!? IF IT IS THE AB'S SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IT!
I AM VERY HOARSE! AND, I AM COUGHING A LOT NOW & MY CHEST HURTS TOO!!! SO BED REST, MEDS & LOTS OF LIQUIDS & NURISHMENT FOR ME I GUESS!?
I was supposed to go work out at the PT place, but I didn't!? Didn't really feel like it, & I didn't know for sure how bad I was or wasn't, so I thought it best not to! I'm too sick right now, & am going to lay off of it this week because I'm real sick!? I don't want to make the others sick! And, I need to rest! Esp... in all this heat!?
Well, that's enough babbling from me!!! I'm worn out! From being sick, the HA/EA, & running to that stupid clinic & then the ER! And, I'm medicated with my other meds now, so........
Thanks for telling me about that virus thing!!! So sorry that you son had it!!! It is one horrible painful virus or infection!?
So what is your ear & throat pain from??? MS, or something else!?

Doc said that if the meds didn't take care of it, that I needed to come back! OR if it got worse! That they might need to do a cat scan to check on things, brain wise!?
I am still in the dx process of this disease and have been spending the last 10 months (after a sudden attack that sent me to the ER) trying to figure out all of the weird things that my body is doing.
When I get an "elevated temp" which is anything over 99 I feel like I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. My body feels like it weighs a ton and I am just miserable. So, I have tried taking tylenol just to reduce my body temp and it works! I feel better in 20-30 min. I think because of the neurological issues our bodies do not regulate temps well (I am not a doctor so this is just my personal experience).
My neuro is sending me to an ear nose and throat specialist because although he feels my pain is probably ms related he doesn't want to just assume that since he is still waiting till Nov to repeat my MRI's to firm up the dx. I have terrible pain deep in my right ear that goes to my jaw and neck. It's not an ear infection because it doesn't get increasingly worse and it comes and goes although sometimes for days. I was told it may be something about lesions in the trigeminal nerve area. I have also had hearing loss in both ears. Anyway, that appt is today.
As for my son, his is just a "summer virus" which has now travelled to my other kiddos.
It is so hard to discern what is going on isn't it? Lately, I have kind of made a checklist of things to try before calling the dr. (again this is just my own personal method that has been working for me - I don't know what your dr has told you afa your conditions)

I read your messages last week and I've been thinking about the new symptom or flair you have it sounds similar to mine except that mine is not really hurt that bad when it first started. I've been having this feeling for almost 2 weeks, I told to my neuro and my nurse they said that's normal. it's just the reaction from the heat(nerve transmission). I try to believe that but this weird feeling never go away it keeps come and go eveery 5 minutes. when I first have it it's like cooling my right face and then send to my right fingures and now it's starting to hurt my right ear, my right shoulder and the back of my head only on the right side. I wonder that this is going to get worse???
