Two years ago I got a really bad pain in my right leg. Later I found out it is called the periformis. I was given a cortisone shot and vicodin. I also had a therapist come in for a week and help me with exercises I can do on the bed ( I can't stand with out a walker )!

It has returned and the doctor gave me the Vicodin but said to come back another day for the shot if the Vicodin didn't help this time.

Anyone else ever have this problem? What did you do about it?

I had pain in my hip, too. This was before I was diagnosed. I was to an ortho, had MRI and nothing was wrong with my hip. When I fell and broke my ankle, I told the ortho (different guy) about my hip pain. He gave me a cortisone shot and that was it. I had pain after that but it gradually went away. When I told my neuro about it when I was finally DX, he said it was probably MS pain. I never knew about that! It has been several years since I have had the pain.

Hope you can find something that helps. PT? Do you think that might help?

Thanks for your info Isj1079- I have done PT 2 yers ago! I have all of the exercises written down to do them again!
