Got an appt to see orthotist (man who organises orthotics) & he checked my walk & said it is actually both feet. I got orthotics for both legs, they are ones that are made of cast alloy (I think), light weight black metal.
They go right under both feet & then there is support around the ankle area, in my case pulling my legs in towards middle as kept going over on ankles. They reach up to below the knee & do up with material that goes around leg & does up with velcro. (Im not good at explaining). I do notice the difference if I try to walk much without them.
I got a pair of nice shoes with them that are an orthotic shoe in that they are made for support to go in, very soft at back & soft on top. I can put the orthotics in other shoes, so long as they have a proper back to them, can be open toed (then would wear knee high stockings if wearing pants.
Another option if orthotics are too expensive or cant get in to see right people to get them is the homyped shoes. These have a good sole/inner support, they are very comfotable & designed to help you walk better. Their shoes are usually soft & can be very nice looking for sure. If you get them from a pharmacy they can be expensive (they are here) but I got some on ebay at really good price inclluding postage. best way to check size is try some on in a shop then look on line.
Hope this helps, if I am not clear please ask me what I meant.
