A doctor told me that I'm getting ON again when the color red seems different from one eye to the next--really dimmer. One eye sees bright red, the bad one sees a dull red. Then that might be ON coming on.
Hope this helps! Hang in there!
When I am tired or on the edge of another attack, I feel a strong pulling sensation that is very painful behind my eyes. That is the optic nerve jerking me around.
There is no hope that this will change for me, I give up. After awhile you get used to the dim vision in the eyes. You must learn to live with this.
Stay out of the heat. That makes it get much worse very fast. It is called Uhtoff's syndrome fyi. http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/Uhthoffssymptom.html
I'm pretty sure that my current MS attack is because of a spinal lesion since I can't feel below my belly button, so it would not affect my vision, and the symptoms are starting to face now.
I do not have any eye pain right now, and red is more vibrant in my left eye (my normally good eye) than in my right eye, which it always has been.
I don't seem to have any of the symptoms I had before with my last bought of ON, but the fogginess/blurry vision seems familiar.
You seem to have some good possible explanations for what might be going on. And I know that you siad that your vision is not affected by the heat, but remember, MS is ever changing, so that could be something new. Or it could be a combination of things. Or eye strain because of fatigue. Or a mild case of pink eye.
I have some issues in both eyes, but I clearly, LOl, remember what happened when I lost my sight, and if that happens again, I will know what it is. I still have issues with my eyes, even thoug hI have gotten back my full vision, it is just not the same.
But here is just a thought...unless there is something speciffic you would do to prepare for the possibility of losing the sight in that eye, why "fear" anything? I know it is hard not to think about it, but stressing over the possibility of something happening, well, sometimes the stress is a contributing factor,...
So, if you have a good eye doctor, get in touch and see if they can take photos of the nerves behind your eyes and have a look around in general. And if not, just don't worry...it won't change anything. I am thinking that if you are not having the same things in any form that your ON brought last time, probably not. But get in touch with with the doc and see if introduing a new med could be causing this.
Take care, and remember, worrying never changes anything.
Don't worry, call your doctor if you think it will help, and keep moving forward!!! FAITH NOT FEAR!!! xoxoxo Cj
I don't want to worry about everything, and once I write it all out on here I instantly feel better for having gotten all of that out of my system. Thank you for letting me vent and for giving me good advice.
I have no eye pain yet, but it is hard to focus in dim light. My vision does seem almost normal in sunlight, but the sun seems almost too bright now.
