I took the 2 pills per day as prescribed and I can honestly say I felt the worse I have ever felt since dx, I managed to stay at work got home went to bed @ 5:30 and woke up this moring @ 6. T I don't know if it was the medicine or the ms, I am scared to take today. Any thoughts suggestions etc.

Call your doc. You could be having an allergic reaction. Other than that, Please be well!

Well I am now at a bit of a loss as to whom to call my endo doctor gave it to me to help me out, I don't see the neuro until March. So I guess I will just wait.

if it is making you feel like crap hon...be on the watch for a web like rash on your legs and thighs please...if that appears...call your dr. does not matter which one at that point ..okay???

I take Amantidine too. Its all about the timing, i.e. when you take it. I took it before I was told to watch the times I took it and to take both doses at intervals before 4 in the afternoon. Four being the latest. It work a little better. Also, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but from what I've heard around, Amantadine may not be your last stop for anti-fatigue medicine...the good news is I've heard good things about all the anti-fatigue drugs. If at first you don't succeed...blah, blah, blah... Good luck!

That pretty much HAS to be some sort of allergic reaction! I took 2 doses of amantadine a day for 6 months. I never noticed ANY benefit, stopped taking it cold turkey and saw no differences. Started taking modafinil (provigil) and noticed a reduction in fatigue nearly immediately. I can't take it after 6 PM if I want to sleep before 3 or 4 in the morning though (which isn't really a big deal, since I am retired and don't have a job).

If you are having that bad a reaction to the med, for heavens sake don't take it! The fatigue is easier to live with than THAT! When you do get a chance to talk to your doc about it, let him know about your adverse reaction and ask about trying Provigil instead.

My insurance made me try amantadine before they would cover provigil. The amantadine made me more tired and I refused to take it again. My neuro just said it works for some people, not for others. The provigil does work for me, but does not work with my other meds. I just go with lots of caffeine.

I have never had a reaction to this, but everyone is different. The bottom of the line cheap fatige drug. I am going to Ritalin. Most insurance makes you try this first because it's cheap.
