I was diagnosed last year with Fibro. and a list of other issues. but while things got a bit better it went downhill again in February. I have been having problems for 3 years well actually subtle things were going on years before. Each major (flare) things get a little worse. I do ALOT of google research of my symptoms and I keep coming up with MS... so I started telling my GP I thought I had MS... I had to insist she refer me to a Neurologist. Well that was taking too long...and the one I wanted to see in Cullman Al. would not see me without a referral so I called up another Neurologist I had seen for carpal tunnel and got in... I was diagnosed by him with action tremors ( I shake in my hands all day long) I feel the tremors through my whole body from the inside out. Anyways...I insisted he order am MRI of my brain because I thought I had MS... reluctantly he ordered it and told me he did not expect to see anything but normal age stuff. Mind you I did not go into detail with this Neuro. about my symptoms just some basic stuff...My symptoms list is LONG...and I have no idea what is related to fibro or something else...and I do not know if I have been correctly diagnosed with Fibro. So I go for the MRI and called the Dr back a few days later for the results...he told me that everything looked good and was as he expected some aging stuff and a couple of spots due to smoking. He said no treatment at this time but if my tremors got where I could not tolerate them come back and he would try some meds. The next morning I got up and went directly to pick up the results from the imaging center...got in my car and began reading the results...
Impression:
Several foci of increased signal within the deeper white matter mostly within the frontal and parietal lobes bi-laterally left greater than right. Most of these areas do not appear active although there is one more prevalent focus within the parietal lobe on the left which does show diffusion restriction but no contrast enhancement. This could represent a small acute or subacute microvascular infarct or the other possibility is this could represent a small active plaque as seen in Multiple sclerosis although this does not contrast enhance with active MS plaques typically enhancing. This small lesion should be handled clinically. ALL of these foci should be handled clinically.
I was floored!!! It also states I have mild chronic ethmodial sinusitis present. He never mentioned NONE of this stuff. Lucky for me my GP did send in the referral to the Neurologist who is the best with MS in Cullman Al. The one I told her I wanted to go see. I got the call a few hours after speaking to the Neurologist about my results... and my appointment was 2 days from the day they called...(I went yesterday)... The appointment went well and I am being sent for another MRI...a more powerful one... actually I was told it is the most powerful in the state of Alabama. GREAT...I asked if it was MS and was told they could not get my disc to load but from what is in the report it is looking like it very well may be.
Needless to say I will never go back to the QUACK who told me everything looked good... who left out important information that if it is MS could have delayed treatment as if I have not already been delayed in the first place...I can track the milder symptoms back to 2006. Once it got really bad I bounced from Dr. to Dr. trying to figure out what was wrong.
So at this point I have not been diagnosed and I may not have MS but I am convinced based on my symptoms...I am now in the care of the BEST Neurologist in the states. So time will reveal what my issue is and I will get the correct diagnoses.

Good Luck in your determine your results. It does indeed sound like the other Doctor was not a very caring individual. I hope that you find answers and soon!

I have been going down much the same road myself. It started minor but it soon caused really bad nerve problems in the leg with sharp stabbing pain. I was seen in the er they thought a tick bite gave me lyme disease. I was sent to a lyme doc and thou all the test came back normal. The doc dx me with neurological lyme disease based on just symptoms. I get put on antiboitcts. I keep going in and complaing that it wasn't helping. As a year of antiboitcts nothing had changed. The doc stopped listening to me. I found that a lyme dx even a shakey one at best, is like the scarlet letter. No doc would listen to me. They couldn't get out of the room fast enough. It took me over a year to convince my current family doc. I asked him about ms but he had his doubts, said ms shouldn't cause pain. But I did get a referral to a neuro. I saw her last week and she is doing a nerve study and a brain and spine mri. I'll know in a few weeks what it shows.

I hope you get the answers you seek. I go for.my new MRI the 11th and won't see the Dr. Again until Aug.5th. Maybe I have MS maybe I don't I know one thing...I will be educated about foci on the brain by the time I go back. I will know everything I can learn about the MRI Report I have. I wished I could get the disc to play with my MRI on it...I will be calling the center and let them know it would not play. Maybe they can make me one that will...I want to see it...
