New York Neurologist?

I have a dear friend who lives out of country, who has a dear friend who lives here in the States, in New York. This friend has been experiencing various neurological symptoms and went and saw one doctor who said to him "well you might have ALS" without any concrete evidence to base such a dx on. Of course, you can imagine what this friend thinks of his doctor in New York, so I applaude to you to help.

Can anyone recommend a good neurologist in New York or close by? His insurance is GHI. My friend is really anxious for her friend to get a second opinion.

I am in Buffalo, saying new york osn't too clear, can you clarify whrer in NY ? We have some really good dr's here and lots of research at UB, and other centers. But where in NY?

Call the MS Society. They will give you names of MS specialized neuro docs. If you want a second opinion on ALS, they can help you w/ resources.

I have heard of one MS neuro in NY City with a name something like Sinec (pronounced something like Sa-Nek). I know 2 people who drive to NY City just to see him. Dont know how to spell it.

There is a practice called Long Island Neurological Surgery. They have many different wonderful practices through out NY. I see a Dr. Dimeneshcu (sp) he's very intelligent, kind and compasioniate.

Please take a look at their site to see if their is one near you, I do believe they take GHI but not sure.

I recalled the name of the neuro--his name is Sadek. The MSers drive all the way up to NYCity from NC to see him. I couldnt figure out why because mine is worth more than him, but these 2 are from NY.
