Hi , this is very nice, I already have a folding cane with the same handle, which is not comfortable, as it hurts my hand and its dangerous because it gets slippery. But I love that it folds for when I use walker or wc. For the home I use a regular one, I've been thinking about making a foam for the handle. Also Google the Flex Stick looks very good, except I believe its heavy. Someone had posted about it a while ago and I believe insurance pays some of it. Thank you, Alma.

Be cautious w/this cane.

You can get practically the same thing by purchasing a tri-pod base for your existing cane tip and you'll about have it. However, a tri-pod base does not pivot but is is a lot less intrusive than trying to manage with a quad cane (oh how I hate quad canes!).

As far as the grip goes, (this is a HUGE concern w/me due to arthritis, MS, carpal tunnel in my hands and a prior-fracture to the right wrist) I need something that I will use that doesn't cause pain.

The best folding one I've found so far is made my CAREX type, it has the "soft grip" handle on it and is adjustable. It also has a wrist strap and a case that came with it and the cost was about $18.00 total. I also have a non-folding CAREX cane too in the blue color which is kind of nice.

As for Medicare paying for this well they will pay what they deem is the appropriate amount only. The last cane I got from them was a total piece of junk and wow, it must have cost them a whole $9.00 for that.

Best to just BUY A CANE if you need one. They are really not expensive when you compare the cost of a cane to other durable medical equipment needs that we have.

I did a lot of checking on this Hurry Cane made in China thing and what worried me about it was slipping and falling due to the plastic grip and also this idea of a "pivoting" base. I already "pivot" enough as it is! Some of the reviews I read on it were not encouraging.

Just my opinion ...

Okay! I still, hands down recommend the FLEX CANE! This other one is cool, like I said! I did check it out because another member recommended that I do so!? And, I do love the bottom & the ideal of it! And, as for pivoting! You would not fall with a pivot! It would actually keep you from falling I think!

But the handle sucks!!! And, the color sucks! And there is NOTHING AT CAREX, CANE RELATED, THAT I WOULD HAVE OR WASTE MY MONEY ON!!!

I still love & recommend the FLEX CANE HANDS DOWN RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE IT HAS 3 LEGS THAT ARE PERFECTLY DESIGNED, WITH SHOCK ABSORBERS! IT HAS A GREAT PADDED GRIP HANDLE TO HANG ON TO, A SLIP FOR YOU TO PUT AROUND YOUR WRIST IF YOU WANT OR NEED THAT KIND OF THING!? I DON'T! I DON'T USE THAT! I WANT MY HANDS FREE, JUST IN CASE I DO FALL!

I do not think that it is safe to be attached to any cane, should you fall??? And, you can still fall!!! With any assistive devise!!! Walkers will make you fall real quick! Single canes too! And, quad canes!

The flex cane comes in many super nice colors! And, it actually works with you, like an extra leg! I HAVE ONE!!! And, I recommend it any day over a single cane or a quad cane! From there, I would just recommend the crutch type canes that actually attach to your arms! I saw a lady, younger then me in my doc office & she prefers them over any because they give her maximum control & stability!

I PERSONALLY!? PREFER NOT TO USE ANY ASSISTIVE DEVICE! BECAUSE THEY ALL GET IN MY DAMNED WAY!!! :) AND, I GOT SHIT TO DO!!! I CAN'T DO ALL I GOT TO DO IF I GOT TO HANG ON TO OR HAVE SOME ASSISTIVE DEVISE IN MY WAY!

I CAN'T BE WITH MY DOGS, MUCK UP AFTER THEM, CARRY A BUCKET OF WATER, DO DISHES, COOK, ETC... WITH SOME BLOOMING DEVISE IN MY WAY!! But if I have to use one, because I can't walk at all or my walking is sooo bad that I am forced to, then I will!?

And, then it will either be my FLEX CANE OR ROLLATER! Though I do like & wish that I had that really nice one that curves all the way out around the front of you! And, it has a lot more rollers on it! And, better I think!? And, it goes out in a circle away from your legs so that you actually have room to walk like a real person!? And, it has a much better seat that is NOT in your blooming way!

The thing I hate about the Rollater is: You can't adjust the damned seat!!! And, it's always in your damned way!!! And, if you have a stupid metal basket you have to remove the stupid thing every freaking time you fold the damned thing to load it up! I chose the soft one for that reason alone!!

And, one of the best things we can do for ourselves is to ware NON-SLIP SHOES ALL THE TIME!!! They are not always pretty!!! But they are practical!!! And, SAFE!

I personally love the Timberland Pro Work Boot! Because it is the most comfortable thing I've ever had on!!! And... it is great for any weather! And, because it is a high top boot it supports weak ankles! I have weak ankles that turn over a lot & make me fall! So this boot works nicely for that!

Their not beautiful! They look like a work boot! They won't go with your dress!!! But they will keep you from falling the majority of the time! I'm an outdoor person who always wares jeans, & T's!!! And, a bandana around my head! So these boots fit right in with my lifestyle!

If your worried about looking gay!? Well, they might make you look a little butch, but I don't give a damn!!! I'm not gay, but I have a friend who is, & a son who is! So, people that don't like either can KISS MY ASS! LOL LOL LOL

Trust me!!! The shoes that you chose to ware play a huge part in weather you fall or not!!! And, make sure that you don't ware boots or shoes with open eyelets below your pants, where they shoe! When your walking they can catch the other shoe & kill you! If it has those!? Make sure that it is well covered by a good pair of pants!!!

And, I agree! Get your own cane! Save Medicare for the big stuff! Like Rollaters & wheelchairs! Esp.... for Wheelchairs!!!
