neurontin and skin infections

I finally read the flyer for the nertontins. Of course this was because I am developing boils on my skin. the flyer says neurontin can cause a deadly skin infection. Wonderful....any one know anything about this????

Hi Melaniemic,

See #3 below. This is considered a SERIOUS SIDE EFFECT and you should probably go to the Dr. right away...


Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
- increased seizures;
- fever, swollen glands, body aches, flu symptoms;
- skin rash, easy bruising or bleeding, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness;
- upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
- chest pain, irregular heart rhythm, feeling short of breath;
- confusion, nausea and vomiting, swelling, rapid weight gain, urinating less than usual or not at all;
- new or worsening cough, fever, trouble breathing; or
- rapid back and forth movement of your eyes.

Hopefully- you have cked with your doc.I have been taking n for a few month and thus far have not had any of the side effects, but everyones body is different-be sure to f/up on this dear.Ellen

Melaniemec -- I had be taking neurotin. It did help with my pain, but not enough to accept the weight gain of 30+ pounds. This was only considered a minor side-effect.

Any problems with skin irrational &/or boils is a serious side effect. Your neurologist's office should be open...CALL. If you do not get any assistance...go to the ER. Major skin irratation like a boil is a major side-effect.
