Just started taking neurotin 3 weeks ago for nerve pain. So far it has helped a little. Hopefully more when we up the dose. I have noticed less tremors but didn't realise it was connected to neurotin.

Have been having very vivid dreams though. But I have been feeling more rested, probably because for once I am reaching the REM stage of sleep.

Hello Kath,
I take the generic(gabapentin) for nerve damage and foot and leg burning/pain. It has been a life saver with little side effects and I'm on 3600-4200mg a day. I have been on it since before ms problems started. I still have tremors but very few and mild. Give it a try, it may be the help you need! Good luck!

Thanks Tonna and Kevin, I will give it a try and hopefully it will help my tremors.

I didn't really think the tremors were that bad until my apts with the two specialists last week. Maybe this will help me sleep through the night too.

As to the vivid dreams....as long as "He's" good looking I'm down with that !!!!!! LOL just kidding.
I use to have those when I took Pain meds for my back and they aren't always pleasant by any means, but if Neurontin helps I think I can put up with them.

I take Gabapentin (generic neurontin) too. I started it about 2 mo ago for nerve pain, especially the terrible sunburn feelings I get. I'm with Kevin...it has been a lifesaver. I started at 300 mg per day, then 600 and now 1,200 just starting yesterday. It works wonders, but then it stops working well after awhile and they have to up the dosage again and again. I researched it, and that's because your body only absorbs a certain percentage of it. So it's not bad for you to be on high dosages (once you work up to them..you can't just start at a high dose) because even at like 5,000 mg, your body only absorbs like 40% of it. Kind of like taking Vitamin C. You pee out most of it and your body only absorbs a small percentage. Hope that makes sense.

Every time my dosage is upped, I get immediate relief again from the pain, but a few side effects while I adjust, like some dizziness. I'll take the temporary dizziness over the pain any day. Good luck with it! HUG. I know it doesn't work for some people.
