Has anyone ever checked out the programs they offer? They have a lot of benefits and programs for people with MS. I met someone who works with the MS Society at the MS walk a few months ago, and was amazing at how nice they all are and how much they actually care. I was able to find a job through a contact there.

I'm just so happy about this new job and how great they've been to me, i had to share and see if anyone else has benefited from them.

I called a chapter in New York City for some numbers of neurologists in the area (I'm in Maryland looking for a NYC Neuro), and within minutes I had a comprehensive listing of neuro's! I was very impressed by their efficiency.

They have been wonderful mailing Yoga & Pilate DVDs to me. My local chapter is a good 50-60 miles away which makes it difficult to be an 'active ' member. I agree that they are very nice. I hope you don't mind me asking WHAT TYPE OF JOB did they give you? I've often wondered how to gain employment with them.

Well one of the lady's knows that i'm an unemployed (got laid off) single mom and newly dx. So she passed my info along to someone else who likes to help out with the MS Society. She called me and without an interview, resume, or even asking about qualifications, she offered me a job to work at overstock.com, from home! She even wants to buy my kids some Christmas presents. She too, is a single mom with MS and is a manager at overstock. I got pretty lucky :)

What i love about the National MS Society is that, i only told one person about myself and that was about 4 months ago but she remembered me and thought of me.
